J S Bach
Sonata in C for solo viola CM093
transcribed from BWV 1033 - a flute sonata, transposed down an octave.
The original does have a continuo part, but some Bach scholars think that this was added by one of Bach’s pupils, and it works well as a solo piece.

Gabriel Fauré
Vocalise-étude for viola and strings CM067
(arranged by Tony Urbainczyk)
score £2.00
parts (5) 0.50 each
Originally for (wordless) soprano, this arrangement for viola is in the original key of E minor, so Fauré’s piano part can be used for rehearsal. The composer produced another version called ‘Pièce’ for violin, flute or oboe and piano in A minor, but without the useful vocal phrasing/breathing marks.

G F Handel
Sonata in C for viola and harpsichord CM141
score and part £5.00
This sonata seems now to have been accepted as a genuine work by Handel, if quite early (from his Italian period). Although a work for viola da gamba, at least one source suggests viola as an alternative.
Here is a link to an article about its authenticity:

This is something of an amalgam of MS sources and the Chrysander edition, making what I hope is a useful, practical edition.

Away in a Manger,
God rest ye merry gentlemen,
I saw three ships,
The Holly and the Ivy,
Good King Wenceslas,
The Sussex Carol,
While Shepherds watched,
A Virgin most pure,
In Dulci Jubilo,
Once in Royal,
We three kings,
O Little town of Bethlehem,
Hark the herald angels sing,
O come all ye faithful,
Coventry Carol,
We wish you a merry Christmas
