This tiny prelude, originally for organ, is Wagnerian in its effect, despite its length! It is a late piece (1884 - the time of the 8th Symphony), unlike his other organ compositions. Until recently the manuscript was lost and earlier editions are based on an arrangement for harmonium, but the organ version reveals a previous misreading/change of mind(?) in bar 9.
