Tony Urbainczyk

was Head of Strings and Assistant Director of Music at Sherborne Girls from 2003 and retired (early!) from this post in August 2013, to branch out into more playing, private teaching and publishing.  He read Music at Durham and studied the violin at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he was taught by the distinguished American teacher, Drew Lecher. He is a violinist and baroque violinist, viola-player, pianist, harpsichordist and conductor.


He offers private tuition in violin, viola, music theory, harmony and counterpoint and composition at his home in Eardisley, Herefordshire.

Rose Urbainczyk

studied at Homerton College, Cambridge, and later morphed into a  Technology teacher. She gained her MEd with the OU, made Tony a viola and is his No.1 fan.


Camel Music

is so named not just because they lived for over 12 years in the Somerset village of Queen Camel, but also because Tony was once kissed by one!
